Food Info

We boast the best Southern food this side of Heaven. All food must fit under the Southern Appalachian Country Fair menu. Therefore, foods like nachos, tacos, pizza, etc. are not appropriate nor allowed.

While a limited number of food booths are located under shelter, most are outside and set into the 15′ x 15′ booth space format.     No tables or other supplies are furnished or available. We do not allow modern food trucks or trailers in the exhibit area.

Most, but not all, of our food booths are run by local civic organizations as fundraisers for their organizations. We do not duplicate food items.  Breakfast, Brewed Tea, Regular Coffee, Lemonade and Limeade can be prepared by any exhibitor.

The deadline to apply for the October show is July 15. Once accepted, the deadline to pay your booth fee is August 25. A $35 late fee will be charged after August 25. Late fees are not charged when application ares submitted after August 25. If you miss the July 15 deadline you may apply for the ‘Wait List’ for cancellations.

If you mail your application, put your name, address and telephone number with the photo description on the back of each photo.  To have your photos returned, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope with sufficient postage. Photos will not be returned otherwise. Include a $40 check or money order payable to Prater’s Mill Foundation.  You may also include information on your work, newspaper articles, etc. with your application for consideration.  Mail to: Prater’s Mill Country Fair, PO Drawer H, Varnell, GA 30756.

Submitting online will expedite application review.  Mailing forms may result in missing available spaces.

Listed below are foods we already have at the fair.

DRINKS

Any food booth can offer regular coffee, brewed tea (hot, cold, sweet, un-), lemonade, limeade and/or a selection of 20 oz. bottled Coke® products.   Products which are only available through Prater’s Mill are limited to: Coke®, Diet Coke®, Sprite®, Dr. Pepper®, Dasani® water and four flavors of Powerade® (Fruit Punch, Mountain Berry Blast, Lemon-Lime & Grape).

Through an arrangement with Coca-Cola®, Prater’s Mill is able to provide these products on credit during the show at a cost per case that will still yield a generous profit.  The price for these beverages is set by the Fair Committee at $2/ea.  All Coke Products MUST be ordered and purchased through Prater’s Mill in order to qualify for this amazing pricing.  No Coke nor competitor product (including waters) may be brought in from another source.  Doing so will immediately revoke your exhibitor status.

Coke Product Orders are to be picked up (in-full or in-part) from the Coke trailer behind the food shed.  You will need to provide your own way to transport your order to your booth and back.  The trailer is attended for morning, noon and evening pick-up shifts on Friday, a restocking evening shift on Saturday and an evening close out shift on Sunday.

You may return for credit any full matched case (24 bottles of the exact same product) Sunday evening.  All returns and accounts must be settled in full before 6:00 pm on Sunday.  Pricing already includes sales tax. Make checks “To the Order of:  Prater’s Mill Foundation, Inc.” Payments made to any other entity will be refused.

We have several different styles of drink coolers available for use, on a first come basis, located under the Stage Pavilion in front of the dressing rooms.  Please consider your neighbor’s needs by limiting the number of each kind used. Be prepared to clean them before and after use. You are responsible for their clean return on Sunday night.  These assets cannot be replaced once damaged.  Return coolers under the stage pavilion where you obtained them in clean and usable condition.

Empty coke crates must be returned to the trailer before 6:00 pm Sunday.  A minimum $50 clean up fee will be assessed to your account for the removal any coolers, crates or trash found in or around your booth and will further jeopardize your exhibitor status.
